Construction Tips

These tips are to provide basic cellar construction guidance, please consult a professional wine cellar contactor for complete details.

Outside walls should be framed using 2” X 6” wood studs. Walls facing the interior of the house may be framed with 2” X 4”.

The importance of a good insulating and vapor retarder cannot be stressed enough!

Moisture resistant drywall is suggested for all walls and ceiling.

Racking design should be determined before cellar construction commences.

Temperature & humidity systems such as WhisperKool, Koolspace & Breezaire.
Humidity 50-70%
Temp 50-55°F
